US President Donald Trump urged Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday to halt military strikes against Russian diesel refineries, warning that the operations are creating global fuel shortages.
"Mr. Zelensky needs to do one thing. Wait a minute. May I speak? Mr. Zelensky needs to stop striking diesel fuel facilities in Russia. Let him attack other targets, but not diesel fuel, because he is creating a shortage.
This isn't happening because of the Middle East. It is happening because of what is going on between Russia and Ukraine. So, we have spoken to Mr. Zelensky about this. There are plenty of other targets. Don't hit diesel fuel, because it causes damage. It harms the whole world. We don't want him striking diesel fuel."
